UNIVERSAL RAY TRACING

Universal Ray Tracing in Brutal Engine means any ray type can trigger any shader behavior, without limitations.

Whether it's a camera ray, a shadow ray, or a probe ray for volumetrics, the engine treats them with the same fidelity. This allows for complex effects like:

  • Ray-traced subsurface scattering without approximation errors.
  • Nested dielectrics (ice in water in glass).
  • Custom AOV capture from any bounce depth.
